Siyo, my name is Kiyah Holmes and I am 25 years old. I am a proud citizen of the Cherokee Nation and I am of the Wolf Clan. I attended school at Sequoyah High School and hold a bachelor’s degree from Northeastern State University. I live in Tahlequah, OK with my childhood sweetheart Devren Eagle. My family comes from the Dry Creek Community.
I was honored to be selected as a youth rider on the 2024 Remember the Removal Bike Ride and unfortunately sustained an injury a few days before the ride. I was honored again to be a youth rider on the 2025 Remember the Remember Bike Ride. Being able to ride along the steps my ancestors took was powerful, heartbreaking, and inspirational. I drew my own strength from the determination and perseverance they showed all those years ago. I grew and changed as a person. I grew a strong bond with my teammates and am proud to call them family.
I will always use the education and experiences I took from the ride and use them in my life to be a strong Cherokee woman.
