To qualify for the Trade and Economic Transition grant participants must meet one of the following:

1. working in the retail industry and have been laid off or terminated or received notice of layoff or termination.
2. previously self-employed, but no longer due to economic conditions or natural disaster.
3. previously dependent on another’s income that is no longer available.
4. a separating service member or their spouse who experienced loss of employment due to relocation.

Must be eligible for unemployment or have exhausted unemployment benefits.  TET employs qualified Career Specialists trained to assist dislocated workers who are transitioning to a new career in health care, manufacturing, construction or tourism and hospitality.  The grant is open to both Natives and non-Natives.
