Valid Insurance Verification (with current dates) is required for all registration & renewals - bring in or email cards to tags@cherokee.org with the office location in the subject line.

Catoosa Tag is currently closed due to the power outage from the storms.

Due to staff shortage - Adair, Catoosa & Collinsville Tag Offices will not be taking anymore sign-in's

Collinsville Tag Office will be closed until further notice due to no air conditioning.

The Tahlequah Tag Office is temporarily closed due to a power outage.

Stilwell Tag Office will be closed on Tuesday, December 16, 2024, due to inclement weather.

Rules & Fees in this section apply to At-Large citizens in Oklahoma.

The Excise Tax and Tag Fees will be the same as the State.

Things to know before applying for rebates through the Gadugi Portal 

  • You must be a Cherokee Nation At-Large citizen living in the State of Oklahoma.
  • You must have a vehicle registered At-Large with Cherokee Nation Tax Commission.
  • The At-Large registration or renewal had to be completed on January 1, 2025 or later.
  • The At-Large registration or renewal cannot have received any other rebates withing this time frame.

For a recent or new purchase, the Citizen will need the properly assigned Title or MSO, Bill of Sale, Lien Release if the title has a lien on it (a very important document that is overlooked at times), Tribal Citizenship card, and Valid Oklahoma insurance verification for that vehicle.

If transferring from Oklahoma to Cherokee Nation, the Citizen will need Oklahoma Title, Lien Release if the title has a lien on it (a very important document that is overlooked at times) – if the lien is not released we can look up lien information then carry this information forward, Tribal Citizenship card, Valid Oklahoma insurance verification for that vehicle.

Proof of residence will not be required for citizens registering "At Large", but must be a resident of Oklahoma.

Cherokee Nation Citizens will be required to have a Valid Oklahoma driver's license.

At Large Citizens will have the option of (1) one or (2) two-year registration at the time of original registration and/or renewal. Two insurance fees will be charged if the citizen chooses a two-year registration.

If registering by mail please include a signed notarized copy of the CHEROKEE NATION APPLICATION FOR CERTIFICATE OF TITLE which can be found in the downloadable forms section.
