The Cherokee Nation Gaming Commission (CNGC) Audit Department is established by the Commission, and its responsibilities are defined within the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act (IGRA), the National Indian Gaming Commission’s (NIGC) Regulations 25 CFR Chapter III, any Tribal-State Gaming Compact(s) to which the Cherokee Nation is a party, and CNGC regulatory standards, policies and procedures.
Our mission is to enhance and protect organizational value by providing risk-based and objective assurance, advice, and insight by providing quality, independent audit services to the Commission relevant to the regulation and conduct of gaming. The CNGC Audit Department provides independent assurance assessments of each licensed gaming operations’ system of internal control designed to ensure that gaming is conducted fairly and honestly and the tribal assets are adequately protected, as well as providing assurance regarding compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.
